Mid-Campaign update

We have come a long way! In the fall of 2015, conversations were well underway to form the largest fundraising initiative in Providence’s history to position Providence to climb its Mount Everest. In September 2016, with some donations in hand, we publically launched IMPACT 2020: The Campaign for Providence, with a goal to raise $12,500,000. These donations are helping Providence to be identified among Canada’s foremost Christian universities as a learning community that transforms students into leaders of knowledge, character, and faith, to serve Christ in a changing world. I am pleased to report our progress to you.

On June 1, 2017 a fire in the Bergen Hall residence gave us a new opportunity to accelerate our vision for a community living and learning experience on campus. In January 2018, the Providence Board of Governors voted to increase the IMPACT 2020 campaign goal to $16,500,000. The new Living and Learning Centre will allow for an innovative, holistic program of spiritual, social, and academic growth for our students. The support we have received in the last two years, and the Board’s approval of this new goal is inspiring. Plans are in place to create a state-of-the-art Living and Learning Centre. We are re-energized!

Gifts and pledges to IMPACT 2020, as of April 15th, 2018, surpassed $12.1 million. We have gratefully received the largest gifts in Providence’s history. We also celebrate an increase in the number of donors. Investments received have allowed us to accomplish a number of projects.

Upcoming projects also include renovating classrooms, continuing efforts to make our Providence Fund robust, and removing educational barriers in the Hanna Centre. Through the generosity of friends and alumni of Providence, Providence is preparing people to be difference-makers as they serve Christ and His Church. Thank you to the many who have participated already. Together, we have done great work. We still have a ways to go to assemble the resources to achieve our vision. I invite you to celebrate with me the momentum gained through the first half of the IMPACT 2020 campaign and prayerfully to consider joining us as our climb continues.
